Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Police were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
