Current Events

Formation Lap Time

The warm-up lap is underway.

Circuit Details

We have nineteen laps of the longest circuit in Formula 1, the commentator informs us.

Final Moments

The last moments is underway.

Driver Situation

One point in Verstappen's favour: his teammate Tsunoda is ahead of him by one place. He is unlikely to mess with Red Bull's lead driver.

Interview Updates

Sky interviewing Sky currently: Gary Neville is with Mercedes.

The analyst is jumping ahead to the 2026 season, speaking with the engineer about his stepping up to the team lead role.

Starting Positions

Just sixteen vehicles on the grid. It was another poor grid-setting session for the driver: following his result of twentieth and final in the previous race, resulting in an eighth-place finish in the grand prix, he failed to advance of the first qualifying segment once more on the previous day. Ferrari have consequently made changes to his car configuration and so he begins from the pit lane.

Aston Martin's Lance Stroll and the Alpine pair of Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto are all doing likewise.

Driver Comments

"We'll use the learning for the next day," says Isack Hadjar, 11th on the grid. There will be plenty of learning.

Team Standings

The focus isn't solely on the individual championship: McLaren have dominated the team championship but the team, with a forty-point advantage over their rivals, will be hoping to secure the runner-up position this weekend. George Russell can assist in this goal from second place, and Kimi Antonelli will begin immediately after Verstappen.

Previous Results

Oscar Piastri was victorious then – as he did last year, as well. The driver from McLaren is going for a third consecutive win.

Short Race Importance

Alright, just over 20 minutes to go until the sprint race begins. Unless something goes wrong, its main importance is as a preview of what is to come, instead of highly important in its itself, with just eight championship points awarded to the victor. Mind you, second place in this race was sufficient for Verstappen to become champion two years ago.

The driver wins the championship following Pérez crashes out of the short race.
