Tehran is willing to restart atomic discussions with the United States as long as it is approached with "dignity" and "respect", Iran's top diplomat has declared.

Abbas Araghchi said exclusively dialogue worked, and revealed new appeals had come from intermediaries to resume talks with the Trump administration. He claimed Iran had zero secret atomic facilities, and Iran had not yet reached a point to permit the global atomic watchdog to visit struck enrichment centers for safety concerns.

Walking a Challenging Route

Araghchi is navigating a challenging path since Iran wishes not to be seen to be acting from a situation of vulnerability, and he consistently maintained that Iran had come out more resilient defensively and psychologically from the joint assault on its atomic facilities in June.

He was addressing at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an inalienable right to process nuclear material within its borders that it will always maintain" – the key factor of the deadlock in the previous talks.

Earlier Discussions Unexpectedly Concluded

The earlier sessions of talks between the United States and Iran were brought to an abrupt and bitter conclusion on 12 June when Israel, with American backing, attacked Iran's enrichment centers in a fortnight-long engagement that ended with Donald Trump claiming the sites had been eliminated.
